The house is situated in the middle of a Moorish castle giving far reaching views (almost 360 degrees) over Spain towards Gibraltar and Morrocco from the top roof terrace. There is a terrace on the first floor giving views over the rooftops.
The house lends itself to being divided into two very easily, there is a lockable dividing door on the ground floor allowing for two self contained homes.
The downstairs room operated as a food shop selling provisions, sandwiches and ice cream, outside the main doors in the covered patio area tourist items were sold (this area is not owned by the house but the town hall allowed it's use at no charge). The shop was run successfully for a number of years and the opening licence is still valid, with a little modification to the property, change of use to a Tapas bar or such like should be possible- please check with the town hall.
Parking is at the entrance to the castle and at various other areas in the village.
The community at the castle is eclectic, artistic and always interesting. Many local artists reside there and evidence of their work can be seen in the local shops.
A number of bars and restaurants offer a range of dining styles.
There is a primary and junior school.in the new village of Castellar which is 8 km down the hill, a school bus comes up to the castle.
It is a very safe and comfortable place to live.
